WESTERN BLOCK Introducing Terri Symon
Right Here Right Now is another gem I recall hearing for the first time on John Leech's Soul Show on Essex FM. BLAH, Blah, blah, and then..... Terri Symon's heavenly voice....
"I wanna be, gotta be, wanna be your luv-ver...Baby, Baby Boy..."
Moving from South London to Essex was, to say the least, a bit of a culture shock. Losing my precious pirate stations was a bit of a blow but discovering John Leech saved me from Prozac... probably?
If I remember correctly, the group had to change their name because of a record shop in Manchester. They had the name first and threatened court action. Western Block changed their name to Eastern Block, I think, before disappearing up that place that many corporate suits call home.
