Produced and arranged by 3 Man Island with backing vocals by Wendell Morrison. I bought this on the strength of a Bob Jones remix, I was pleasantly surprised to find the album version was better. The Surgery Mix takes it to a faster floor but does little with the song, IMHO of course. Sue Chaloner must be older than she looks on the album cover because she used to be part of the duo, Spooky & Sue, back around 1975 doing songs like Swing On A Star and Catch A Falling Star. Took a long time to lose that image but she certainly improved.

This strange bit of easy listening muzak got commissioned for the mighty Bob Jones remix treatment. Trust me, that (and the nice cover art by Robert Longo) is the only reason it's here. For contrast, try listening to the GMT 12" before playing the Bob Jones 12". The erratic and meaningless instrumentation and the ineffectual (unknown) vocal are, at the least, lacklustre. Doctor Bob weaves his magic and turns this sugar sweet vocal into a breath of fresh air. It's not a must have but it does make a nice change in your playlist.

The Temptations - The Jones 1992

The Temptations are a legendary group but in 1991 when they released the album 'Milestone' the line up had changed several times and group members were suffering ill health. With no particularly strong songs either, it's hardly surprising that Milestone, as an album, was forgotten.

It was probably for this reason that 'The Jones' was offered up for the remix treatment. The UK's Bob Jones could do no wrong at this time and Ray Hayden was formidable as a producer, artist and remix engineer, especially on the London scene. Opaz Studios turned out this superb remix which was played to death that summer.

I seem to recall a film of similar name. Can anybody confirm whether or not this track was featured in a movie around 1992?
